How beginners can improve

I think although theories and tactics are important, and we will talk about them in the lectures, for any level below KGS 19 kyu, the best way to improve is to simply play more. In fact, this is the training schedule as supplements to the lectures that I think should be the most effective.

By the end of September:

1. Look or play through the go tutorial at The Interactive Way to Go

2. After you are done with the website, go download Igowin. Unzip and install the program. Play until you reach 22 kyu.

By the end of October:

1. Reach the 16 kyu level on Igowin.

2. Register at KGS and play league games with other beginners within the club.

3. Go to {www.goproblems.com} and do the 30 kyu and 25 kyu timed question set. (Look at the top right).
